Just try booting off a usb. I dare you. Yes even after finding the manual and disabling their funky boot booster. Still can't do it. Nightmare. 3 hours down the tubes and counting.


Asus 1001PXD-MU17-WT Review by DMD

Simple, easily upgradeable netbook for basic use. Don't try to open/edit big JPEGs or anything, but for staying in touch, word processing, browsing or watching movies it's a totally acceptable solution.

Buy this and upgrade the memory to 2GB for ~$20. You'll thank yourself.

Windows Starter is loaded down with bloatware, as you might expect. Unless you're going to throw Ubuntu on it, it's probably not worth upgrading to Windows 7 Pro or whatever just b/c the comp is so damn cheap already.

Overall pretty satisfied. First copy of this machine arrived with screwed up BIOS, Amazon replaced via overnight shipping so I could make my trip. Great customer service.

I've had my netbook for several months now and love using it on the go. My only problem is this stupid Windows7 Starter. I would have gladly paid a few more $$ for the netbook to have a fully fuctioning operating system. I'm being stuborn about the upgrade and continue to limp along on the neutered version.

I love the keyboard, it seems larger than it is.
